Why has the EPA been laying on the propaganda heavier than normal lately...?

Josef Goebbles would be proud of the methods they've been employing in recent television ads depicting infants ingesting formaldehyde in their baby food...stating that if not for the EPA, that's where we would be...Is the "clean air" act the driving force behind this obvious foolishness?
