Is momentum conserved?

Energy is always conserved unless there is an external force such as gravity, friction, or air resistance acting against it. If it is a closed system (its closed unless otherwise specified) then the energy is always conserved. The person before me is incorrect because the potential energy (when KE=0) is equal to the kinetic energy at the end (when PE=0).
