How does the Great Gatsby of the Crucible fit into the theme democracy/freedom and its shadow value hypocrisy?

I'm doing an essay about democracy/freedom and its opposite and i need to tie this into either the great gatsby or the crucible. does anyone have any ideas? Thanks!
