Baby shower venue?

I am giving my sister in law a baby shower soon. I do not have a lot of money to book a venue so I was thinking about having the baby shower at a local restaurant in the banquet room. The restaurant is buffet style and the meals cost $7.50 per person (all you can eat). Will it be tacky for me to invite people to this shower and ask them to pay for their own food
